"Excellent for long (10-16 miles) runs on asphalt..."

...which is the only reason I bought them. For shorter 3-6 mile runs, or runs on dirt trails, I still prefer much lighter, thinner-soled shoes like the Brooks Mach 8, Nike Waffle Racer, Nike Free 5.0, and Brooks T4.

The reason is that thinner more flexible shoes give you more "road feel"---I land on the balls of my feet not on my heels (Google up "pose technique" or "chi running" if you don't understand what/why this is) so I have a very light, quiet footfall which maximizes my biomechanical efficiency and sharply reduces my risk of injury. Shoes with an enormous amount of padding, i.e. thick heavy soles, usually encourage poor technique such as heel-striking, which is absolute hell on your joints (knees, ankle, back).

This is where the Adrenalines surprised me: despite the ominously built-up heel, they are nevertheless flexible and firm enough that I can still get adequate road feel and maintain correct form. On a long run on asphalt roads and concrete sidewalks, they ARE, I hate to admit, extremely comfortable even though I sometimes feel like I am running with pillows on my feet compared to the minimalist shoes I use for shorter distances or dirt paths. But they are still much firmer than the Brooks Glycerin, which is a neutral high-cushioning shoe---read: marshmallows. And the Adrenalines somehow fit my feet perfectly, especially the heel area. 5 stars

"Great shoes"

This is my 3rd generation of the Brooks Adrenaline shoes. The gts7 are by far the best. They offer great support and cushioning. These are the best running shoes I have found. 5 stars

"Very light weight running shoe"

This shoe provides with great shock absorbtion and is light as can be. Feels like running with air-conditioning at your feet. 5 stars

"Excellent shoes for high-impact runner"

This is the third set of the Adrenaline shoe's I've purchased. I've owned the GTS 5, 6, and now 7 series ever since a local botique running store recommended them for me. The reason they were recommended is because I'm 6'6'' tall (a little over 2 meters) and weigh 230lbs, so whatever pair I get has to have tons of cushioning. Before I moved to these, I would get knee and back pain if I went over 5 miles since I run predominantly on black top. Now, almost nothing, except when they start to wear out after a year, which is a good signal that the cushioning is gone and it's time to get a new pair!

Once you buy one, you'll be coming back to this model over and over. 5 stars

"Love these shoes"

I go these for my husband who loves these shoes...He is overweight with thin legs so i thought these may help his knees...The only reason i cancelled one star is he still complains of some pain in his legs after using these on his treadmill...but its a huge improvement over his other shoes. 4 stars
