Light in weight, without much sole padding it is not a running shoe. I use mine for tai chi and light hiking. The primary design features are a flat relief sole (for sliding on clay court), a circular design under the ball of the big toe (for rotating moves), reinforced bond between sole and upper AND best of all a highly perforated leather upper which allows excellent breathing for the feet; even under sweltering conditions.
