My problem with the venture day Tubbs is the dual pivot tongue with cinch pulls (the binding that goes over the toes). The straps are hard to pull and I have to keep stopping to adjust the fit. My old pair of
Tubbs have a pull cloth strap across the toe that makes putting and taking off the snowshoes much quicker. The heel straps of the venture day are also made of something rubbery (not cloth) and I wonder how long it will be until they crack or tear and have to be replaced.
I used to be able to wear high waterproof Muck boots with my old snowshoes, but not with the new Tubbs -- the boot material rubs against the rubbery strap part of the toe and makes it difficult to insert the toe of the boot.
Although once the snowshoes are properly adjusted, and I wear different boots they perform great. But I really prefer my older cheaper pair of Tubbs than the venture day. My old pair are easier and quicker to put on and take off. The straps are made of fabric and I don't have a problem wearing rubber boots.
