"Good for complete ice, poor on mixed ice-concrete"

If you expect to be walking on pure ice all the time, I'd recommend Yak-Trax. If you walk across a lot of concrete between patches of ice, you might want to think about getting something a little more wear-resistant. One of the rubber strands on the bottom of mine wore out and broke after about a month of use. I'm attributing this to a lot of walking on concrete between patches of ice wearing out the metal coils and the coils cutting the rubber. But since this mixed-use is what Yak-Trax are made for (as opposed to crampons) I'd call it a near fatal problem.

My next purchase will be of Kahtoola Microspikes or a similar shoe chain, in the hope that the chain will be much more wear resistant than Yak-Trax. 2 stars

"They work!"

They work well, it would be good to have the sizing info posted. I am a size 11 and the chart says I should be in a large, but they have a tendancy to slip off o fmy foot in the mud. 4 stars
