And I have a very steep driveway. The Yaktrax Pro works great in helping get up and down the drive while I am spreading ice melt. A very wonderfull product that does exactly what its supposed to do. And with no moving parts. What can be better. 5 stars The following review received 1 helpful votes out of 1 total votes: Review Date: 2008-01-26 "Not for heavy duty hiking on mixed turrain" I purchased Yaktrax Pro about 2 weeks ago and have hiked about 15 miles with them now. This morning I hiked on uneven surfaces that were not always covered with ice or snow, and the last metal coil on both heals opened exposing a sharp point; I didn't notice this until the hike was over, and by that time one of the rubber straps was broken as well. I expected the product to last much longer. I'm going to try "Get-A-Grip Ultra - Snow & Ice Traction Cleats" next. 1 star Review Date: 2007-12-20 "Product performs as advertised." This is a good product for walking around town in the snow and ice. I feel much more confident walking on icy sidewalks and rarely slip. However, the small size which should have fit my shoe size was actually too small to fit well on hiking boots. I should have guessed that the exterior size of the boots would have been significantly bigger than the exterior of a shoe and ordered the next size up. 4 stars Review Date: 2008-01-17 "Good, but could be better..." The product works great once installed properly. We had intended to put these on my wife's snow boots, but the rubber part that stretches around the shoe/boot, was not tall enough to fit the boot. Instead we use them on a pair of hiking boots. Review Date: 2008-01-19 "Yaktrax Pro" The Yaktrax Pro "stabilicers" work very well. After slipping on black ice and braking my wrist, I was eager to find some way of bettering my odds of surviving the winter. With the Yaktrax attached to my boots, I feel much safer on ice and snow. They are well worth the money. My only disagreement with the advertising is that they aren't a real breeze to put on. | |
