We have 2 other pairs of snowshoes by Yukon Charley. They don't pick up snow under the cleats like these Pacific Outdoors snowshoes do. The aluminum cleats should have had a plastic material under them to repel snow. We don't use these anymore because of the extra weight of the snow picked up with each step. 3 stars

For the money these snowshoes will be just fine. They are not the latest technology regarding fasteners/closures and the binding seems to be made for a wider foot. I had rented some snowshoes (my first ever!) last winter that were latest style, and they were easy to fasten and adjust because all was velcro. Also they might havehad ones for men and women, cause I had narrower boots on and they fit tighter mine must have been for women). These that I bought here are unisex. But these are fine for my needs and $$$. These are good up to 175 lbs. I am 110 (a woman). The only problem is they are not easy to adjust for a narrow boot. So I'm gonna wear a wider hiking or snow boot. I wear a size 7 shoe, and I'll be fine. So I give this product 4stars. Can't beat them for the price! Would have been 5 star if it had velcro ties/closures/etc. The grippers look great. Plus I was able to fit them into a small duffle bag for easy carry. Can't wait for some snow. This snowshoe is easy to use and provides good traction. Considering the price, it's a good value. My only real complaint is the adjustability...I couldn't snug the toe box in for a tight side-to-side fit, and the straps needed to be tightened from time to time.

Overall, a completely adequate snowshoe for a good price. 3 stars
