I use it for ski boots that get almost daily use. A dryer with heated air would be more effective. It's also quite noisy, and lacks a timer. Though it can't use much power, I wish it would turn itself off after several hours' use. it gets the job done, but spending another $10 would have been money well spent to get heated air and a timer. There are better options out there. The 12v power would let you run it from a car, motor home, or boat, whcih may be useful to some people. 2 stars The following review received 3 helpful votes out of 3 total votes: Review Date: 2007-03-22 "Very Noisy" If you plan to use this thing in your hotel room at night to dry boots or gloves, better pack earplugs also! Each unit will dry 2 or more pairs overnight. Easy and compact to pack also. 5 stars Review Date: 2007-03-09 "Wors good- but it's LOUD" Excellent for drying boots and gloves, however be sure to have it in a different room, it runs a little loud. Almost too loud- makes it less convenient. 3 stars Review Date: 2007-03-29 "Best portable boot dryer for the money" We recently took this dryer on our family ski vacation and it performed well. It comes with both a/c and d/c cords and takes batteries as well although I can't imagine ever using that feature. It packs away compactly in a ski bag or luggage. 4 stars | |
