"Great Beginner Skates"

I bought these skates for our 4-year-old who wants to be just like his older siblings. The skates have a sturdy construction with a hard shell to support the ankles and our son is having a great time on them. The only issue I have is that the toe stop seems a bit cheesy and will probably need to be replaced more quickly than I would have expected. I did a lot of shopping around and am entirely satisfied with these skates and expect he'll grow out of them before they wear out (aside from the toe stop, that is). 4 stars

"Great skate for first timer!"

My son got these skates for Christmas from "Santa" and just loves them! As a young five year old he was on the borderline of the baby vs. big boy skate in terms of size. Since he's more on the cautious (ok...fearful) side and really doesn't want to fall, I had been leaning more toward picking up a pair of the "baby" skates just to get him comfortable with being on wheels. After speaking with my mom, however, I decided to go with these because as she pointed out they look SO MUCH COOLER (they look like awesome inline skates, but have the benefit of being quads), so he's more likely to want to master them. Of course she was right! He stopped unwrapping his other presents just to put these on!

To help him get comfortable on the skates I let him wear them around the house (with pads and helmet) in the carpeted rooms. This boosted his confidence enough for him to finally venture out onto the driveway (with my assistance). He's not yet speeding along, but he's no longer afraid either. I know that by springtime he'll be skating like a pro.

For folks like me who may be concerned about this skate possibly being too advanced for a beginner: the wheels don't resist like the more babyish skates, but they also don't spin with abandon. They give just enough so a more confident skater can move well, but resist enough so that a new skater is not slipping all over the place. Also, my son says they're comfortable. It was very easy to adjust the size. And did I mention that they look AWESOME?!?! 5 stars

"Awesome skates!"

My son loves these skates. He was hesitant about using rollerblades so I got these. He started out walking in them, but was skating within about 15 minutes. They look great and are very well put together. 5 stars

"Great Beginner Skate"

I purchased these last year for my son's 4th birthday. He's loves them! He's still learning but manages them fine. The best part is they will fit for years because they're adjustable. Would recommend for beginner or a little more advanced young skater. 5 stars
