After practicing kicking in this shoes, I found it a lot easier to keep balance in regular sports shoes, which provide a lot more support. 5 stars The following review received 4 helpful votes out of 5 total votes: Review Date: 2005-12-22 "Comfy shoes, poor stitching." I walked around in these shoes for about two hours after recieving them in the mail, and was pleasantly suprised by their comfort. BUT, when I took them off the bottom lining came out of the shoes with my feet! I bought them with the express purpose of wearing them about the house in lieu of traditional slippers. Having recently developed an appreciation for ancient Chinese literature & culture, these shoes seemed a natural compliment. Sorry, I'm not a martial artist at present. But honestly, I don't see how these shoes could hold up to the rigors of anything more than a Qi Gong fitness regimen. They just aren't sturdy enough. Any ballistic-combat movement with the legs would tear the soles from the upper. I believe the pair I have are well made and adequate to the task for which I've chosen them. If you intend rougher usage, proceed at your own risk. The sizing recommendation was that I purchse an international 43 for my English 10 and a half--this proving accurate whether barefooted or with light socks. They are quite comfortable and extremely light, providing just enough warmth against cold floors while petering about the house. They are a bargain at this price and delivery was super-fast. 5 stars The following review received 4 helpful votes out of 23 total votes: Review Date: 2008-01-15 "Great Shoes for anyone who isn't a POSER" These shoes are great for many reasons.. first of all if you are a dumb american traditionalist attempting to pose as a kung fu artist your shoes will fall apart for several reasons.. Reason number one is because you don't even know how to walk or respect the ground.. Reason number two is because your shoes are most likely a size too big, they're designed to fit tightly and stretch a bit once worn meaning if you normally wear size nine you should squeeze a size eight (41-42) around your feet to begin with.. Reason number three is because you're just a dumb american poser that just wants to look cool and attract attention.. Reason number four is because you know you're a dumb american and should have used a clear, super sticky, rubberized adhesive compound around the inside and outside creases of the stitching.. Everyone knows its better to adapt and overcome than trash a well made, functional product.. These shoes are Great for several reasons... One, they're not comfortable once they are broken in they're designed to turn a tenderfoot into a leatherfoot.. Reason number two is they're designed to turn an american set of disrespectful knees into an oriental set of respectful knees.. Reason number three is these shoes are silent as opposed to the rubber soled model which alerts everything from bugs to old ladies with hearing aids as to your whereabouts just like tap dancing shoes.. Reason number four is because you can run across a slick tile floor and just slide slide slide and its so much fun that if you're active and adrenalinated you can't get enough of them even if the poor little spoiled american baby's soles do come out a little bit... So if you have complained about this footwear theres a couple of things that we- the real- already see you doing... The first of them is WAH! WAH! WAH!... The second is BAAAA!!! BAAAA!!! BAAAA!!!
