It is very impressive and fires a pepper spray blast at 90MPH. It will shoot around eye glasses and face masks and it has a 12x12 inch spray pattern so you cant miss your target. It wont depressurize or leak and has an operating tempature from -5F to 176F. This is a great product well worth the money and outperforms any aerosol spray. 5 stars The following review received 2 helpful votes out of 3 total votes:Review Date: 2008-05-28"iffy"This item is good in concept, bad in application.
The ergonomics are lacking.
If you buy this item, PLEASE buy the 2 or 3 of the practise orange models, I bought 1 and my wife popped it over the garage, then claimed it wouldn't fire again.
At this point I had her hand it over to me (the expert), and I found the thing working perfectly (again, over the garage)
The two paper plate bad guy targets(with magic marker bad guy faces)remained blue dye free.
Unfortunately, my assumption that she would be familiarised with the product after the use of one 2 shot training aid (at a significant cost) was wrong.
PRO: the thing delivers a blast that is portable and comparably long range (2 shots)
CON: Weird shape that most non firearms users (e.g. , my wife) find confounding. Also firearm usurers (like myself) are made to look foolish when repeating the same exercise.
CONCLUSION: Buy several practise models, by several I mean 3 or more.
The goofy thing is so non ergonomic that my wife (who can down a fly or bee with a blast of windex or 409 at 10 paces)literally, couldn't hit the broad side of our garage.
SUMMARY: Buy the dragaonfire OC gun (in addition to this item)and buy the cheaper refill kits.
Have the wife or significant other use the water cartridges on misbehaving dogs or cats, or flies and bees, whatever.
Kind of a big hog of a thing, but I would feel better if she had the dragonfire, with the LED light(which lights up the area of impact, more or less) and the pistol type grip(like windex etc) and the prolonged use (up to 23 shots from a cartridge, from an experienced user, so I've read)
up to a dozen high blast sprays on the household offenders from my wife.
(Who prefers the dragonfire WAY over the kimber, she has the kimber for travel, at my insistence) 3 stars |
