So far we've seen the moon as if we were so close we could touch it and even though it took us some time to get use to the computer generated map of space, and to figure out where leo was so we could find Saturn it was fun looking for it. Now that we've located saturn we hope to see Mars and some more planets as the year goes by. I find it annoying though that some of these people who review these products give them bad ratings because they are either too lazy to actually work toward the desired outcome or they are just plain stupid...anyway, this product is good to go. 5 stars The following review received 16 helpful votes out of 45 total votes: Review Date: 2007-12-07 "Over promised, under delivered" This telescope was a great deal and was going to be a Christmas present. My credit card was quickly charged and told of being shipped the next day. I then received an email saying that the company was out of stock on this item and was working with Amazon to process my refund- which would take two days to even let Amazon know that they needed to refund my card. When I checked on the item today, it was still listed as available to order with overnight shipping. I am very disapointed in both this company and Amazon. 1 star The following review received 12 helpful votes out of 14 total votes: Review Date: 2008-03-23 "Meade RB-60 Refractor Telescope" At the price this is an absolute steal. I own several telescopes. The optics in this 60mm "spy glass" telescope are really superb for viewing the moon. It does take some tweaking in lining up the laser finder and adjusting the acompanying 2 lenses. I can see craters on the moon. The quality is excellent. I still haven't been able to see a planet, but I guess it's because I don't know exactly where to look. I purchased this telescope this past December as a Christmas present for my 10 year old sister. She had always wanted a telescope so she could sit on the grass at night, staring at the stars. As she is in no way looking to become an astronomer, and we knew the telescope would be nothing more than a novelty for her, I was searching for something inexpensive, yet sturdy. In the past the telescopes she has received were purchased for around fifty dollars at a toy store, only to be opened up and found not to work and to fall apart within a few days. After doing some research online this telescope seemed to be the best option - as the price and reviews all screamed positive! | |
