"Mosin Nagant M44 Brake Compensator , Scope, & Clips"

This was a very good buy! The muzzle compensator is just what the doctor ordered--for your shoulder! It decreases the impact from firing by at least 50%--a very noticeable difference. Item arrived as described--very quick shipping! The scope mount for the M44 is perfect; and the clips, although readily available elsewhere--were also a good buy. Nice all-around package. Thank you! "m 44 muzzle brake"

I bought this hoping it would fit an M38.It didn't the seller didn't say it would, but I took a chance. It was however a close enough fit to make it work. After some shimming to align it properly I welded it on. This brake and a slip on recoil pad, turned this one shot shoulder bruiser into a rifle that is fun to shoot all afternoon. Some might think it was a mistake to permanently alter this old relic, but this has become my favorite shooter, I have no regrets. If you have an M44 I think you would probably be pleased with this product. 5 stars

"very poor quality"

The scope mount will not accept weaver style scope rings. The screws provided with it are of very poor quality. The muzzle brake has been machined very poorly. It's screws bent and then stripped after 20 rounds. I can not recommend this package to anyone. 1 star

"poor design"

The scope mount is of a poor design and will not keep the scope steady. The stripper clips are hard to use because the shells do not slide easily in and out. The muzzle brake makes the rifle feel end heavy and prevents the bayonet from being extended. 1 star

"Spend Your Money On More Ammo"

This item arrived recently, and let me tell you; DISAPPOINTED.

The compensator was poorly machined. The slot in the front is uneven and I doubt that it will help accuracy because of it. Also, while it dropped right on my M44 with just gravity, it would not fit on my M91/30- though I could possibly get it on there with a sledge hammer, well that'd just be a bad idea.

The mount- ugh. Also poorly machined. While the description is a bit vague I got a no-drill-no tap scope mount. For some reason the M44's rear sight won't come out, but the M/91s will, so I ended up putting it on my M/91. I cinched up everything nice and tight. I didn't put loctite on it- but within THREE shots it almost fell off entirely. You might get better results with loctite, locking washers, or the like, but why chance it?

The stripper clips I have not used yet- they are available elsewhere on the site. If they do work, I'd be surprised after seeing the work done on everything else.

Finally a side note about scoping your Nagant; get a cheek rest. Even with 1/2" I was unable to get a correct site picture. The Nagant comb is tiny and worthless with a scope. 1 star
