It amazed me at how well it took inches off of my thighs. Over the years, some of the plastic pulleys wore down, so I have been looking for a replacement. The Bally Fitness Pilates Door Knob Rope Exerciser comes close to matching the Body Exerciser. It has three minor problems that if you are willing to work with, will do the job that the Body Exerciser does. First, it squeaks. Second, the loop that fits over the door knob has a tendency to slide off easily. Last, the rope itself is too short (I am 5'4"). I easily solved all of these problems. I ignore the squeak. I added extra rope to the loop section and to the exercise section. I have been using the Bally Exerciser and am already seeing my thighs and abdomen tighten up and slim down. The results I obtained with this product were excellent, which made its imperfections acceptable. 3 stars The following review received 5 helpful votes out of 6 total votes: Review Date: 2005-07-28 "Useless" This exerciser would be useless to you unless you were extremely out of shape. Learn to do leg raises by yourself, and throw in a few pushups. Have someone hold your feet while you learn to do situps. Don't waste your money. 4 stars The following review received 5 helpful votes out of 5 total votes: Review Date: 2005-12-17 "What workout?" A friend of mine just gave me one of these. Knowing I've been working out she figured it might help me on days I don't go to the gym. I owned an exerciser like this some years ago with nylon rope and plastic pulleys. It was a great, quick workout at home and I lost the thing in a move. I was glad to get a similar item with elastic bands for only $10. As far as using it, just bind the doorhandle loop with a rubber band or tape. To move away from the door, just add a length of nylon 3/8 inch rope. What the heck do you expect for $10! 4 stars The following review received 4 helpful votes out of 4 total votes: Review Date: 2005-07-20 "Bally fitness pilates door knob rope excerciser" The rope is to short. I'm all the way up to the door (on top of it). The one I had years ago when they first came out had a longer rope. Also the cushion that goes around the handle is not needed. I had to tie the rope around the door knob because it keeps coming off. 3 stars | |
