Review Date: 2007-09-27"Yeah I'll rate this product!"It is hard to shop for something like this online because it is big and because you need it to fit a whole bunch of gear. I erred on the large side and I definitely ended up with a LARGE gear bag.
I coach a softball team in NYC. So we have to drag our gear around on public transportation and having a good bag is way important. This is just that, a good bag. It does the job and appears sturdy. We've only had it a couple days so only time will tell. It is heaven compared to our last bag.
Couple of issues.
It is huge. You seriously could fit an adult HUMAN in this bag and transport them around. We play softball so we don't tote around catchers' gear just bats (it holds three,) a double bag, a plate and three regular bags and some incidentals like balls and catchers mask and first aid kit. IT IS MORE THAN BIG ENOUGH FOR THIS! I have been putting my personal bag in it along with all the rest of the gear to get to the field and there is plenty of room to spare. If I knew this I would have bought a smaller one NYC apartments being tiny as they are.
It is a little top heavy. If you don't pack the heavy stuff in the bottom, it definitely requires some upper body strength to get it around.
I also don't like that the bats get stowed on the side of the bag. Seems unevenly weighted to me. I have seen some others that stow the bats on the underside or as close to it as possible but evenly in the middle, not all the way out on the flank.
How about a color other than black?
It rolls good, is pretty stable if a bit big. It will do the job for you.
All in all; good. It will do the trick. Tough to find one that fits both bats and bases without being monstrous. 4 stars |
