This armguard is very long and effectively covers the entire arm, preventing bruies or bowstring burns. Several women I was teaching archery to had problems getting their hands slapped by the string resulting in rather painful injuries even though they were using a small armguard. After buying this 13" Martin Armguard there have been no problems. I would reccomend this item. The snap in straps are also easy to adjust and convient. 5 stars
