The simplified use of a fixed with the flight benefits of a mechanical.
No rubber bands to mess with, field point flight characteristics, a large cutting diameter and a rock-hard chisel point. I've been using Gladiator broadheads for the past 3 years, and have yet to be let down. A slightly high and forward shot sold me on these tips after I picked some up on a clearance shelf - the arrow penetrated the left shoulder, both sides of the ribcage and through the bone of the right shoulder - all with a 60 pound 220 fps bow shot from around 30 yards. From that point on, I have been a Gladiator believer - which is not to say other broadheads can't do the same; but I know what I have with the Gold Tip Gladiator. 5 stars

These heads are great for the price. I have been using them for several years and have taken 4 deer with them. With the exception of a large doe that I hit a little back, none of them went more than 50 yards (the doe went about 150). The fixed blades are nice in case of mechanical failure, but I have yet to have them not expand. They punch cleanly through the rib cage and have a nice large cut, so they do their job quickly. The only thing that I don't like about these heads is that they don't last very long. By season's end the rain or high humidity will leave a film of rust on the blades. Which is fine, because then they turn into practice heads.

Overall a very good buy. I highly recommend these. 4 stars
