The ONLY thing I didn't like was the huge mouth that caused me to spill water all over myself if I wasn't really careful. This new small-mouthed size bottle is PERFECT! It is still a tough lexan bottle with an attached top, and classic colors, but now it is more practical to actually drink from. Hopefully I won't lose this one too! 5 stars The following review received 4 helpful votes out of 4 total votes: Review Date: 2007-12-31 "Perfect" Nalgene polycarbonate bottles are legendarily virtually indestructible. Use them in your knapsack, working out, and on backpacking trips. Whatever you dish out, these bottles can take it. The only issue you have is whether to get the wide mouth or the narrow mouth model. Wide mouths are more convenient for putting in powder mixes but are hard to drink from without spilling. Narrow mouths are easy to drink from, but harder to get powders into and harder to clean. The narrow mouth bottle here is the perfect water bottle. The narrow mouth is easy to drink from (even has a little "no dribble" lip). The 1 liter capacity is not too much to carry, but enough to meet you needs. The shape is perfect. The lid's captive loop can be used to carry the bottle from your backpack's frame. I had purchased one of these Nalgene wide-mouth 32-oz bottles from the bookstore at my university, and unfortunately lost it. When I returned to the bookstore to buy a replacement, the bookstore had run out. I really like the design, so I decided to check Amazon's new Sporting Goods store to see if I could find one here. It's almost unbreakable (unless you really try), and the narrower mouth keeps it from spilling all over you. Just don't let your wife put it in the dishwasher with the cap on or it will melt!! 5 stars Review Date: 2007-03-30 "LOVE IT!" I love this, I have been using a 'one use only' 32oz plastic cup to drink out of for quite sometime, then I was informed how bad for my health that is and how nalgene lexan might suit my better. I ordered one of these (sage blue, which I love) a few weeks ago and absolutely LOVE the thing, the water doesn't have the nasty plastic taste, it cleans easy, I've dropped it when it was full of water and it didn't even crack, unlike the cups I had been using that shatter and send water flying in every direction. I even like how much cooler the bottle seems to keep my water (it is substantially thicker than what I was using and I believe it is acting as an insulator). | |
