It reads out swing speed. You can also set the club you are swinging (e.g. 1 wood) and it will give you an estimated carry distance for a well struck shot. Set it about 3 feet behind the ball on the target line, and it will measure very consistently, in my experience. A dachshund with one bad eye could give you the same inconsitent and wildy inaccurate readings as this pricey gem. The Beltronics customer service was actually even worse than the readings of the unit. I should have spent the cash on a lesson with my golf pro. 1 star The following review received 2 helpful votes out of 2 total votes: Review Date: 2008-05-17 "not accurate" I was curious about my clubhead speed so I bought one. I dont hit the ball that far so I know my clubhead speed would be low. Avg about 95 mph with the 1 wood. I also liked the feature that it tells you the yardage with a certain club. So I picked up a 6 iron which I usually hit about 160-170 yds (if I hit the sweet spot) and swung that a few times. It said distance was 132 yds. Did that a few more times and still in the 130s. Then I selected PW on the unit. I can hit that about 110 yds. I took some nice good swings and it said 83 yds on the unit. | |
