The first problem was the batteries only lasted 6 months. Now it has developed a problem where it keeps reseting (may be batery contacts became loose) so I have to set up the ID between the transmitter and the head unit. It is a PITA to do that everytime. Last few days it got even worst, now everytime I go over a pot hole or bump it resets. So I've stopped using it. I'll contact Cateye to see if they offer a service to repair or replace it. IEven if I did not have this reset issue I'd say stay away from this, it is very tedious to use, for example to reset the counters I have to press 3 buttons all at once and when you are wearing gloves you can for get it. Even when I am not wearing gloves it is not easy to reset the counters. 2 stars The following review received 14 helpful votes out of 18 total votes: Review Date: 2006-02-28 "Cateye nailed it with this Double Wireless device!!" I was hesitant at first to pay more that $40 for a bike computer but it had everything I needed; speed, cadence, distance, etc...etc... all in a completely wireless unit. I really love having all those ugly wires and that nasty tape off my bike frame. It feels and looks much cleaner now. I really like this little cyc comp.... however I find that it is too finicaty to keep pressing the buttons to move between displays... there is no 'SCAN' function whereby it moves from display to display every 3 seconds or so... It is difficult to conveniently move between features and to reset the information it presents (e.g., time, distance, etc.) When I am not trying to reset the information presented, the CatEye is great. I should add that CatEye's customer service was great. When initially installing the Cycle Computer one of the pieces broke to attach the Computer to my bike's handlebars. After contacting Cat Eye, they promptly followed up with a replacement. 3 stars The following review received 5 helpful votes out of 8 total votes: Review Date: 2007-05-14 "Awesome cyclocomputer" The CatEye Strada is an excellent wireless cyclocomputer. It's the first I've owned, but I read many reviews of cheaper models which often complained about accuracy and calibration. I entered my tire information into the Strada and measured its accuracy, and it was spot-on. It has a nice large screen but the computer doesn't take up much space, and it's easy to scroll through the displays (time, distance, max speed, avg. speed, etc.) with one touch. Installation was pretty simple also. | |
