"Not a woman's watch."

Decent Watch for the price. The compass is a little sticky. You have to tap it to get it to move. This watch came up for me under "woman's watch" category and while I woman could use it, it probably would be a little large for most women. Was going ot give it as gift but probalby will just keep for myself as a spare watch. 4 stars

"Nice asset for my teen aged daughter"

As my daughter's birthday was approaching, I wanted to give her a nice watch for everyday use, with a touch of originality. I pondered, it had to be "cool" for my teen aged little girl. I also wanted a time piece with easy to read fluorescent dial and numbers. With those ideas in mind, I set my self to look for a variety of colors and forms, either on the bracelet or the case.

When I saw the Avalon Adventure Series Field Watch with Compass # 1337W, it drew my attention immediately. It is sporty with it's original band adjusted with velcro® and it's one of a kind compass feature. Good for everyday use, while arousing her attention both to the time and location. Yes, everywhere she goes, she moves around to find the north. This has given me and unexpected benefit, she is developing a better sense of location and displacement around town.

Other characteristics I find useful are the mineral glass window and those two little "humps" around the crown. The date wheel is easy to see, even for me --with out my glasses--. I agree with the observation posted in other reviews, the compass is sticky but good enough for the "urban jungle." It size wasn't an issue, since she wears it loosely.

Just a couple observations. It could have the cyclops feature, i. e., a magnifying glass other the date wheel (I insist), and the outer bezel should rotate. Besides that, a time piece worth every penny and much more. 5 stars
