I ordered these over the ones that have a ribbon to tie. My daughter is two and there is no way I would make the teacher tie her shoes over and over again. The velcro closure is great and the patent leather is of a good quality and much more practical for the child who does not yet have the ability to tie shoes! 5 stars

These shoes are awsome for the young dancer. They are not leather which would be more important for an older child who's feet would sweat more but for a young child that will wear these for an hour class or around the house to practice it is just fine. The velcro is great!! So much easier than having laces come undone. It is also wonderful for the young dancer to have that feeling of getting ready all on their own when they can't tie yet.
Great shoes! No regrets. In fact I am getting them in the next larger size for next year. 5 stars
