I hadn't owned a bike since childhood until 2 years ago, when I finally decided to purchase one as an adult. Given that wearing helmets for safety has only come into practice more recently, I was also shopping for a helmet for the first time. After reviewing many different styles, I settled on the Bell Bella, a helmet designed for women. I have the helmet in the silver color, and it quite attractive with its subtle wave pattern--very pretty without being overly girly. The helmet fits snuggly yet comfortable on my head, and it is fairly lightweight. One of the special features just for women is that a gap at the back of the helmet allows room for a ponytail, which is very handy. The helmet also has plenty of ventilation, and as a result, I've never found my head to sweat when wearing it. The only thing that I've found to be less-than-optimal about this helmet is that the straps are a little tricky to position correctly, but I expect that is true of virtually any bike helmet. Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with this helmet and would definitely recommend it to others. 5 stars
